A couple weekends ago, we flew to Chicago to visit our DEAR friends, Bobby and Mel Greenwood. They are living in Chicago for a 5 month training program to plant a church in Fayetteville!! So, we went to hang out with them and hear more about the church. God is doing incredible things as He prepares their hearts for Fayetteville and we are SO excited to see all that He is going to do through them in this awesome city! Aside from having 2 girls with ear infections, Lyla being on steroids for her cough (making her slightly bipolar), and my wallet being stolen,  we seriously had THE BEST time with the Greenwoods. They are some of our very favorite people. They encourage us so much spiritually every time we are with them. We left feeling both refreshed and challenged. Not to mention, we always laugh a ton and their kids are the sweetest!!! And Mel is the best hostess ever, making things so comfortable for us...including gifts for each of us and a mint on our pillow upon arrival! :) And a fresh batch of her famous pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!!
Sadly, I didn't take my good camera because we flew and were trying to pack super light. So I therefore barely took any pictures...and the only ones I got are terrible quality, taken with my phone. Nonetheless, here are a few peeks into our weekend...
Friday night, we drove downtown and walked around the city...got to see "the bean", the ice skaters, the little Christmas village and all the lights, and of course eat at the famous Chicago-style Panera! :) (long story...but I'm nearly positive that's where my wallet was stolen!)
Me and Mel in front of the bean!!

watching the ice-skaters (truly a highlight...such a warm fuzzy Christmas feel!)
The girls did awesome on the flights there and back!! Lowen slept on me the entire time, both ways. Lyla happily ate her snacks and watched her princess movies. And John David did some coloring. :)

Thanks SOOOOOOO much, Bobby and Mel, for the awesome trip!!! We love y'all so much and can't wait for y'all to be in Fayetteville!!!
